• University professors who are recognized as world leaders in the field of his or her research; or

• Academic research leaders who are equivalent in scientific seniority to professor and also recognized as world leaders in the field of his or her research; or

• Principal investigators in reputable research institutes/organizations who are equivalent in scientific seniority to university professor and are recognized as world leaders in the field of his or her research; or

• Principal scientists or science leaders in industry who are equivalent in scientific seniority to university professor and are recognized as world leader in the research field of his or her research.

To demonstrate the recognition as world leader in the field, he or she should hold substantial research funding as a principal investigator, have top quality publications and have been involved in organizing or chairing international conferences, invited as independent referees for research funding/grant, or involved in advisory bodies or committees for UK or international research councils such as BBSRC, EPSRC, MRC, DTI, EC project etc.
