Dr Henglong Hu

Henglong is Director of New Product Research and a Principal Scientist in Consumer Healthcare R&D, GlaxoSmithKline. His work involves in building the pipelines for ingredients, products and health claims. He is a committee member of BBSRC DRINC Programme and a board member of Bioscience for Business Knowledge Transfer Network.

Henglong finished his medical training in 1982 and obtained a master degree in Medicine specialising in nutritional biochemistry in 1990 and was awarded a PhD in neurochemistry in 1997. He has worked for government (CDC), national research institutes (MRC), food (Unilever) and pharmaceutical (GSK) industries and has published original papers and patents in the areas of nutrition & brain development, nutrients & ageing, dietary components & cognitive functions, nutritional neuroscience, and food research.
