Dr Wen Jiang
is a Professor of Surgery
and Tumour Biology and Head
of Metastasis & Angiogenesis
Research Group at the
University Department of
Surgery, Cardiff University
School of Medicine. He
joined the university in
1989, initially as Research
Fellow (1989-1996), then
Senior Fellow and Group
Leader (1996-1997), Senior

Medical University in 1987
and worked in the Department
of Surgery, First Teaching
Hospital of Beijing Medical
University before joining
Cardiff University.
Dr Jiang’s
main research interest is
the molecular and cellular
mechanisms of cancer
invasion and metastasis and
the clinical implication
thereof.
The current
research theme includes:
tumour
induced angiogenesis and
lymphangiogenesis and
intervention, targeting
invasion and metastasis
inducing molecules,
molecular screening and
profiling of tumour
metastasis related genes,
development of new
anti-angiogenesis and
anti-metastasis agents.
