ALSC-UK Call for Nomination of Vice-president

The Academy of Life Sciences for Chinese in the UK (ALSC-UK) is the senior members’ club of the Chinese Life Scientists Society in the UK (CLSS-UK).  After wide selection and stringent evaluation by the Nomination Committee and Decision Committee for ALSC-UK, 31 ALSC-UK Fellows have been elected in the 14th &15th Annual Meeting of CLSS-UK. Warm congratulations to all fellows of ALSC-UK!

As the current president of ALSC-UK, I had intensive discussion with the Chairmen group of CLSS-UK and also fellows of ALSC-UK in last a couple of months. All agree that with own autonomy, ALSC-UK should work more closely with CLSS-UK by using the same information and administration system. ALSC-UK will receive full support from CLSS-UK and also has duty to support all academic activities organised by CLSS-UK.

The president of ALSC-UK will be selected by the ALSC-UK fellows in Academy Meeting. To tie the connection between ALSC-UK and CLSS-UK, the Chairman of CLSS-UK (selected by CLSS-UK committee representing 5000 members) will automatically be the Standing Vice president of ALSC-UK (appointed by the president of ALSC-UK). Other Vice-President will be selected by ALSC-UK fellows.

Therefore, we cordially welcome nomination and self-nomination for opening vice-president vacancies of ALSC-UK. If you are interested in the positions, please contact me directly (qingbo.xu@kcl.ac.uk or Dr Xiong Z Ruan (Standing Vice Chairmen of ALSC-UK) at x.ruan@medsch.ucl.ac.uk.
