Welcome
CLSS-UK
is one of the earliest and biggest professional
societies for overseas Chinese in the UK aiming
at providing a platform for its members to
exchange information, share experience,
collaborate with each other and contribute to
the life science development in China. To
promote activities in the north area and improve
our participation to the CLSS events, since
2008, CLSS-UK started to organize local meetings
in North UK. The 1st and 2nd symposiums were
successfully held in Edinburgh and Glasgow in
2008 and 2009, the 3rd annual CLSS-UK North
Britain Life Science Symposium is coming to
Dundee this June in 2010.
The objective is to facilitate the communication
and collaboration among Chinese life scientists
in the UK and China. To highlight the
multidisciplinary research nature in life
sciences, this year we invite brief scientific
abstracts and talks from as many areas as from
Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics,
proteomics as well as Mathematics modeling of
biological systems, and so on. The Symposium is
free of charge for registration and we will
provide lunch for registered participants.
Travel bursaries will be available to support
travel costs for participants outside Dundee on
a first-come-first-serve basis until the
allocated fund is exhausted.
Dundee has been called City of Discovery in
honor of Dundee's history of scientific
activities. Based on the Thomson Scientific
Index of citations, the University of Dundee is
ranked as one of the top 5 European Universities
for Excellence in Research in Biology,
Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Genetics.
With rich history and strong background in life
science Dundee welcome you here for a fruitful
and successful meeting in July 2010.
